Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Prophesy was destined to make his mark on the hip-hop scene. At just 13 years old, he found his passion for rapping, inspired by his older brother Robert, aka "Apprentice." Apprentice's freestyle battles and breakdancing sessions in their backyard, followed by late-night spray-painting missions, left a young Prophesy soaking in the culture from the sidelines. During these formative years, he immersed himself in his brother’s tapes, vibing to the sounds of LL Cool J’s "Walking with the Panther," NWA, and Public Enemy.
By the age of 16, Prophesy was already making waves with his mixtapes, paving the way for the launch of his own record label, Soulja Style Records, at just 18. He formed the group Soulja Style, and together, they released the now-classic album "Ghetto Anthology," solidifying their place in underground hip-hop.
Prophesy’s journey took a near-fatal turn when a car accident left him in a coma for a week. During this time, he experienced an out-of-body journey that deepened his fascination with the afterlife—a theme that continues to influence his music. The loss of his brother led Prophesy to step away from the mic for several years, but his passion for music never waned. Now, he’s back, more determined than ever to create innovative tracks, craft dope beats, and inspire the next generation of artists. Prophesy’s music is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the unbreakable spirit of a true street Soulja.
